En este post, os describimos el hotel donde nos alojamos en el punto más al sur de Estados Unidos, en los cayos de florida, el Hotel 24 North en Key West o Cayo Hueso.

Este hotel es un lugar perfecto para visitar esta pequeñita isla de contrastes, con una estupenda relación calidad-precio y un fácil acceso desde la carretera número 1 de USA, por la que se llega a los cayos. 

This hotel is perfect for visiting this small island of contrasts, with great value for quality-money and easy access from the US1 road in the United States, which is the road used to reach the Keys.

El hotel es de inspiración cubana, ya que realmente la distancia a la Habana desde Cayo Hueso es menor que hasta Miami! La decoración, las palmeras, la piscina y su bar para desayunos, cócteles y comidas te permiten sentirte totalmente en el caribe. Tienen hasta una balsa rescatada del mar en la que los emigrantes cubanos llegaban a Estados Unidos. 

The hotel is of Cuban inspiration, as the distance to Havana from Key West is actually less than  to Miami! The decor, the palm trees, the pool and its bar for breakfast, cocktails and meals allow you to feel totally in the caribbean. They even have a raft rescued from the sea in which Cuban emigrants arrived in the United States.

 

El Hotel 24 North es un lugar para relajarse y olvidarse de todos los problemas, y más en invierno donde pudimos tomar el solecito en la piscina disfrutando de unos cócteles riquísimos. Además, su cantina es genial para un almuerzo rapidito y sabroso y por supuesto para un desayuno completo. Nos encantaron los scrambled eggs, el bacon muy muy crujientito, además de la ensalada de langosta! También, en la misma zona de la piscina ofrecen cenas amenizadas con actuaciones en directo. 

The 24 North Hotel is a place to relax and forget all the problems, and more in the winter where we could sunbathe in the pool enjoying some delicious cocktails. Also their canteen is great for a quick and tasty lunch and of course for a full breakfast. We loved the scrambled eggs, the very very crunchy bacon, and the lobster salad! Also, in the same area of ​​the pool offers dinners enlivened with live performances.

Las habitaciones son grandes, con una cama gigante y realmente cómoda, un baño también muy completo con una ducha moderna y agradable. La nuestra tenía hasta un sofá que siempre viene genial para coger el portátil un ratito. 

The rooms are large, with a giant bed and really comfortable, a bathroom also very complete with a modern and nice shower. Ours had even a sofa that always comes great to pick up the laptop for a little while.

Una de las cosas que más nos gustó fue la decoración con tonos pasteles que inspiran mucha tranquilidad y unas fotografías de un artista local que te trasladan al paraíso. Esta decoración es también compartida con el hotel hermano The Gates Key West, que está justo al lado y que visitamos como podéis ver en las siguientes fotos. Además, colaboran con una fábrica de puros local, Fábrica de Tabacos Rodriguez, disponiendo una zona para disfrutar de ellos en el propio hotel.

Para ambos hoteles, en 24 North Key West y en The Gates Key West, hay un shuttle gratuito para trasladarte al centro de Key West, donde aparcar puede ser bastante difícil. Así que es una buena opción para visitar el centro, desde la casa de Ernest Hemingway hasta el southernmost point (el punto más al sur de Estados Unidos), o ir al puerto a ver el que dicen que es uno de los atardeceres más bonitos del mundo; os dejamos una foto del atardecer que disfrutamos allí. 

For both hotels, at 24 North Key West and The Gates Key West, there is a free shuttle to downtown Key West, where parking can be quite difficult. So it is a good option to visit the center, from Ernest Hemingway's house to the southernmost point in the United States, or go to the harbor to see what is said is one of the most beautiful sunsets in world; we left a picture of the sunset that we enjoyed there.
