This first post about our Marrakech trip is devoted to our first contact with the Moroccan food in Marrakech, our best lunch in Place des Epices(spices square) in the NOMAD restaurant. We chose it because it has very good reviews in tripadvisor and it was very well located for the first day of our route in the Marrakech medina. We spent the morning in the Souk and before lunch we went to that square to buy some spices, as we will tell you in a future post. We cannot be happier of our choice, since the experience of eating modern Moroccan food in a relaxed environment just in the middle of the old and busy Marrakech, was fanttastic.

For the food and drink we followed the advices of the waiter, Sabir, who was very attentive and active, same as the rest of the nice service. We drink two cocktails, a mojito and a kind of a cucumber gin tonic but with martini instead of gin. They were accompanied by some pop corns with pepper and really good cheekpeas. For eating, we order a cauliflower salad with grenade which was tasty and very fresh. Also as starer, we tried one of the dishes we loved more, courgette and feta fritters. And then the star main course, the calamari with an all in one delicious sauce! We also order a typical Moroccan dishes, the wonderful tagine. It was with chicken one and came with a very tasty couscous. Then the coffee and the desserts, they recommend us two, one of orange and a kind of pudding, but as we are chocolate addict we order also a chocolate cake. All were very good but the chocolate one were supreme!! And and we don't want to forget the bread, absolutely delicious!!

The restaurant is very big, it has cozy, intimate and beautifully decorated lounges and a terrace with wonderful views, where we lunched. We loved to see the life of the square from this quite atmosphere. We spent many time resting there and the Marrakech lights were beginning to be on. It was all so nice, we could stay almost until sunset but we had to keep moving, it has to be great. And the dinners there with the light decoration have to be really cool. The prices were affordable, a little bit cheaper than in Europe. Starter about 6-8 euros and main course about 9-12. So we think it was perfect and we highly recommend it.

This week we show you a comfy outfit we use to wear in our road trips. This one was very short, just the day before of our Marrakech trip. We had to take a flight from Seville and we decided to spend one nigth at a beautiful hotel (Hotel Alcoba del Rey) which we will show you in a future post.
