NUEVA YORK - UN PASEO POR MEATPACKING Y MÁS

- NEW YORK - MEATPACKING DISTRICT AND MORE -

It is time to come back to talk about our travel to New York, after some posts about Cuba or Thailand. In this post, we describe the short route we did around one of the trendy neighborhoods in New York, the Meatpacking District and the surroundings as the Greenwich Village, Chelsea and the High Line. Meatpacking District was before an old place with meat stores and now is a cool place. In fact, we were there some other times during our travel, visiting several concrete places, like the champagne brunch in Bagatelle we describe in another post about New York. Also, as we will show in next posts, we went in that district in order to go to a restaurant known by the TV serie Sex and the City, Buddakan, and then to the nightclub Le Bain with swimming pool in The Standard Hotel rooftop. Now, let's focus on the route we did one afternoon before going to the most trendy play in New York, Sleep No More, This is in Chelsea, specifically in The McKittrick Hotel (as The Heath restaurant, the one we describe in a previous post). You can see the route in the next map or clicking here to see it in google maps

First, we began stopping in the subway stop with the exit in The Cage, a basket street court where you can see some young guys playing, in a similar way as we use to see in movies. When we were there was full of people, and it was very funny and curious. Then, we walked several streets to go to Joe's Pizza to eat some tasty, cheap and greasy pizza slices in this well known place visited by many famous people.

Then, we kept walking around the Greenwich Village streets arriving to the famous street where Carrie Bradshaw (Sex and the City) lived. Everything seemed very similar to the serie but we were very fast to not disturb to the neighbors. And very close is the Magnolia Bakery, where the most famous cupcakes are done. This bakery appeared also in Sex and the City, but it really worth because the cupcakes are the best we ever tried!!

Following our walk around the Meatpacking District, we arrived to the coolest neighborhood, which now has also another atraction, the Chelsea Market. A renewed market that offers hundreds of places to eat and drink. We went directly to The Lobster Place. And honestly, they were pretty good. Although the sushi and other fresh fish seemed also very tasty. We recommend this place for a fast stop for sure.

With the stomachs full, we went to the so expected walk through the High Line. This amazing park built over a high train rails, which was in project when we lived in New York. So, we wanted to see it now and it was really cool. Pity not to have more free time when traveling to spend some relaxing hours there. We had to go quickly to arrive on time to Sleep No More  We will talk about this play further on, although the best thing is going to see it without any preconceived idea since it is very special.

Siguiente parada: Cena y Espectáculo Quen of the Night!! Y no olvides seguirnos en Facebook, Instagram o Twitter!! Bss!!

Next stop: Dinner and Show Queen of the Night!! And don't forget to follow us in Facebook, Instagram o Twitter!! Kss!!

Then, it is better not use too short skirts neither heels. Then, I (Nadia) wore a black jumpsuit which I love from SheInside (now SheIn) and a couple of animal print bio sandals very comfortable from Suite Blanco. Also I used a mini bowling bag from Suite Blanco, and a black kimono just in case of cold from SheInside and cat eye sunnies from Ralph Lauren.
